FACILITATOR OF PLACE
Hi!
I am Ellie, the founder of PLACE and a passionate teacher. My passion and expertise lie in teaching the early years, pastoral care and catering for students with diverse needs. The idea for PLACE all started when I stepped out of the classroom teacher role and stepped into a SENCO (special educational needs coordinator) role. Part of that role involved working with teachers, parents and external agencies to create a more integrated and inclusive approach to supporting students with needs. I had the privilege of immersing myself in classrooms ranging from EC – Year 5 and working alongside teachers to share knowledge, practice and research. Not only did I have an opportunity to share my passion and expertise, but I was also gaining so much from the time spent with other teachers, observing, reflecting and sharing with one another. I was able to add so many practical ideas from my time working in this role, into my teaching practice today.
Long story short, I thought, we need more opportunities to do this! And PLACE was made…
A place to come together to share practice, research, ideas with like-minded community members working in or have an interest in the children services industry.
